Fusion Ranch Inc. is a jerky processing facility located in Scottsbluff, NE. The work environment is fast paced, on your feet, and physical work. We offer a smoke free, drug free work place. The workers must perform all duties in compliance with existing USDA, OSHA, State, Federal, and company regulations, policies and procedures (including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), SSOP, HACCP and safety regulations). Production Manager
Some of the duties include, but not limited to:
1. Ensure safety guidelines are met
2. Assist plant management to meet/increase production output and efficiencies.
3. Maintain quality control standards while adhering to HACCP guidelines
4. Ensure food safety and security regarding the manufacturing, handling and storage of all raw materials, ingredients and finished goods.
5. Control loss, minimize/eliminate downtime and improve product yield.
6. Coordinate training, scheduling and labor management
A qualified candidate must meet the following criteria:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Food Science, Chemistry or related field
2. Previous GFSI/HACCP/SSOP experience in the meat industry
3. 5+ years manufacturing/management related experience in a food production and sanitation environment
4. Prior experience in developing and managing training programs, understanding diverse learning styles and levels of education
5. Self-motivated and high performance oriented, proven ability to increase efficiency and reduce loss.
6. Must possess the ability to verbally communicate and present both professionally and effectively to all levels of the organization
7. Ability to use and drive of shop floor control metrics to maintain and improve performance.
8. Solid attention to detail to maintain records and reports.
9. Problem solving and statistical skills,
10. Strong communication skills both verbal and written across all levels.
11. Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Quality Assurance Manager

Some of the duties include:
1. Monitor the compliance of processes and associated records to company quality systems and initiatives to the Global Food Safety Initiatives (GFSI). Report findings to Plant Manager and assist in problem solving.
2. Plant technical documentation review including but not limited to supplier COA’s, QA paperwork and shipping/receiving paperwork and inbound receiving.
3. HACCP Plan leadership and oversight/maintenance
4. Maintain regulatory compliance by approving labels and regular label audits
5. Conduct formal root cause analyses for any non-conforming items and assure the Continuous Improvement process is utilized
6. Project management and delegation for R&D evaluation involving new ingredients or changes to existing ingredients and completing projects to improve the quality program
7. Organize, manage and lead the audit and certification process for all Food Safety/Quality audits and certifications, including GMP, BRC, and USDA.
8. Create, manage and perform internal food safety audits, mock recalls, etc.
9. Maintain documentation for product specifications, packaging and quality standards
10. Manage supplier quality programs to ensure high quality and safe raw materials.
11. Implement and manage employee training programs relating to GMP’s, HACCP, and other quality and safety programs
12. Manage environmental and product monitoring programs
13. Establish, document and assess SSOPs for the plant and equipment. Provide and coordinate training in the area of sanitation and chemical programs
14. Manage on-time closure of assigned deviations and non-conformities.
15. Analyze quality inspection data to identify all types of quality problems and perform root cause analysis.
16. Assist in collecting and reporting weekly and monthly Quality reports, e.g., First Pass Quality, Complaints, NCR, Deviations, and others as assigned.
17. Maintain documents for Audits.
18. Continuously verify/validate sanitation effectiveness and propose better ways to clean/sanitize.

A qualified candidate must:

Food Production Workers
Some of the Duties include:
1. Manually trim, cut or debone raw meat
2. Lay meat onto trays or hang on racks
3. Operate equipment to slice, marinate, stuff, cook and pack product
4. Load/unload equipment or operate smokehouse
5. Trim sausage or scrape trays
6. Scale and pack finished products
7. Wash and sanitize equipment, work area, and common areas
A qualified candidate must:

3. Able to lift up to 50 lbs

Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician will work with operations to provide general upkeep, preventative equipment maintenance and repairs within the facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and technical skills to support an aggressively growing manufacturing facility.

Some of the duties include, but not limited to:
Develop and perform planned Predictive and Preventive Maintenance on all facility equipment. Ability to trend issues, develop and execute plans to ensure a closed loop process to improve equipment reliability.
• Self-motivated with strong communication and organization skills. Strong computer skills a plus
• Ability to order parts and track spending, as well as identify areas of opportunity.
• Work closely with operations to provide technical training to production associates.
• Able to think critically to solve problems and be detail-oriented to follow complex instructions.
• Must be fully qualified with documented certifications, and have a minimum of five years mechanical exposure with duties requiring the skills to troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read schematic drawings
• PLC and automation equipment experience a plus
• Electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to troubleshoot, replacement or repair of electrical equipment
• Applicant must possess their own good quality hand tools.
